I’m excited to share my seventh novel and can’t wait to introduce readers to my new cast of characters. Including besties, Jo, Devon, and Michelle, who’ve known each other since school days, and Erica Warwick-Brown, a former police officer turned Private Investigator.
The Summer We Lied is quite possibly my most ambitious and twisty book to date – and my first to feature a private detective.
At the heart of the plot sits one question: what happened to Gavin Watts, Jo’s twin brother, who disappeared nineteen years ago. With her fortieth birthday fast approaching and desperate to move on with her small, apologetic life, Jo hires Erica to uncover the truth.
I loved creating the tension and drama between Jo, Devon and Michelle, as well as alternating between gritty Southeast London, past and present, and the laid-back sunshine vibes of Majorca where the girls celebrate Jo’s fortieth.
I’m blessed to have some wonderful early reviews and am so grateful to ARC readers for sharing their thoughts ahead of publication.
Naturally I’m hugely grateful to my brilliant publisher, Bloodhound Books, for sticking with me and keeping the faith when mine wavered once or twice. Tara, Hannah, Lexi et al, THANK YOU, I appreciate you.
I hope my loyal regular readers will enjoy The Summer We Lied as much as I enjoyed writing it (despite a few glitches my end!). Thanks again for all the love and support.
Happy Reading!
Available 20th August, from Amazon and all good book outlets.

On a fortieth birthday trip to Majorca, long-buried secrets threaten to shatter the bond between three best friends.
Nineteen years ago, Jo Watts’ twin brother Gavin vanished without a trace. Now, with their fortieth birthday approaching – and desperate for answers – she hires a private investigator to uncover what really happened.
As Jo travels to Spain to celebrate with her best friends, Devon and Michelle, tension simmers beneath the surface. Old jealousies are reignited and, as the drinks flow under the Mediterranean sun, the cracks in their friendship begin to show.
Because they’ve all been lying.
Back in London, the investigation into Gavin takes a dangerous turn. And as past and present collide, Jo is forced to confront a devastating possibility: the people she trusts may be the ones with the most to hide.
The closer Jo gets to the truth about her brother, the more dangerous it becomes.
The Summer We Lied is a gripping, twist-filled psychological thriller about friendship, betrayal and the corrosive nature of secrets, perfect for fans of Lucy Foley and Claire Douglas.
